Youth Programming

Program Overview

Youth Programming at the Indigenous Fellowship of Hamilton Road (IFHR) creates opportunities for Indigenous youth to gather, learn, and strengthen their connection to culture, community, and identity.

Through culturally grounded activities, mentorship, and community engagement, youth programs support young people in building confidence, relationships, and a sense of belonging within the Hamilton Road community.

Why the Program Exists

The Hamilton Road and East London area is home to one of the largest concentrations of Indigenous residents in the City of London. Community conversations and research have also identified the importance of safe and culturally grounded spaces where Indigenous youth can gather and learn.

Youth programming at IFHR was developed to support these needs by providing opportunities for connection, cultural learning, and positive community engagement.

What Participants Can Expect

Participants may experience opportunities such as:

• Cultural teachings and knowledge sharing

• Land-based learning activities

• Community gatherings and events

• Mentorship and peer support

• Educational workshops and skill development

Community Impact

Youth programs play an important role in strengthening community wellbeing. By creating spaces where Indigenous youth can gather, learn, and support one another, IFHR helps strengthen identity, cultural knowledge, and community connection within the Hamilton Road neighbourhood.

Looking Forward

As IFHR continues to grow, youth programming will expand alongside the needs of the community. Through collaboration with Elders, knowledge keepers, and community partners, the organization will continue to create opportunities that support Indigenous youth leadership, cultural learning, and community connection.
