Page Overview

The Indigenous Fellowship of Hamilton Road (IFHR) welcomes community members, partners, and supporters who are interested in contributing to the growth and wellbeing of the Hamilton Road community.

There are many ways to get involved with IFHR, including volunteering, forming partnerships, becoming a member, supporting the organization’s mission, or contributing leadership through the Board of Directors.

By working together, community members and organizations help strengthen opportunities for cultural learning, community connection, and support within the neighbourhood.

Become a Member

Community members who wish to take an active role in the future of IFHR are encouraged to become members of the organization.

Membership provides individuals with the opportunity to have a voice in how IFHR develops within the community. Members may participate in meetings, contribute ideas, and help guide the direction of the organization.

Members will also gain access to the IFHR Member Portal, where they can receive updates, information, and resources connected to the work of the organization.

As the membership program evolves, members may receive benefits that are not available to the general public.

Individuals can apply for membership by completing a membership application and paying a small annual membership fee.

Volunteer

Volunteers play an important role in supporting community programs, events, and activities hosted by IFHR.

Volunteer opportunities may include assisting with community gatherings, supporting youth programming, helping with garden activities at Mushkiki Gitigan, or contributing to special events.

Individuals who are interested in volunteering are encouraged to contact IFHR to learn about current opportunities.

Partnerships

IFHR values partnerships with community organizations, local businesses, and institutions that are interested in supporting community wellbeing and reconciliation.

Partnerships may include collaboration on community programs, cultural learning initiatives, community events, or educational opportunities.

Organizations interested in working with IFHR are encouraged to reach out to explore opportunities for collaboration.

Board of Directors

IFHR is guided by a Board of Directors who provide leadership, governance, and strategic direction for the organization.

Community members who have experience in leadership, governance, community development, or related fields may have opportunities to contribute through board service as positions become available.

Information about the current Board of Directors and governance structure can be found in the About section of the website.

Careers

As IFHR continues to grow, employment opportunities may become available within the organization.

Career opportunities may include roles connected to youth programming, community programming, cultural education, and program coordination.

When positions become available, they will be posted on the IFHR website and shared with the community.

Support Our Mission

Community members and organizations who believe in the work of IFHR can support the mission of the organization in a number of ways.

Support may include donations, sponsorship of community initiatives, or contributions toward programs that support youth, families, and community wellbeing.

Support from the community helps IFHR continue to expand opportunities for learning, connection, and cultural engagement.
